Ales Karhanek, the Nelson & Marlborough Branch Manager, brings over 17 years of industry experience and expertise to his role. Having started his career in the security sector in 2008, Ales spent four years in Europe, working as a security technician and product manager specialising in CCTV products. In 2011, he made the move to New Zealand, where, shortly after, his journey with Aotea Security began.
Starting as a technician, Ales quickly demonstrated his skills, rising through the ranks to become 2IC and eventually taking on the position of Branch Manager. Today, he leads the Nelson & Marlborough regional branch, overseeing operations and ensuring a cohesive, motivated team while continuing to deliver the high-quality service Aotea Security is known for.
While Ales has been involved in numerous projects during his time with Aotea Security, he mentioned one of his most notable projects was the access control and system upgrade at Nelson Marlborough Hospital. Under his management, the project involved the installation of 600 access-controlled doors and an entire security system upgrade, all completed in roughly 18 months. Honesty, quality, and transparency are all important values with which Ales approaches every project.
Outside of his professional life, Ales enjoys spending his free time outdoors, either on his mountain bike or adventure motorbike, exploring the beauty of New Zealand’s landscapes.
