Reflecting on the past 18 months and the most recent 6 weeks of disruption and uncertainty, one thing remains certain within Aotea Security and that is our commitment to attracting talent and building our team.
All teams need leaders, and we continue to build a team of leaders to support our people, to support our customers, our community, and to support our continued growth. We have expanded our reach, our capacity and our capability and we have expanded and refreshed our leadership structure to support it.
New leadership roles so far for 2021 include:
John Mills – National Client Unit Manager
John joined Aotea Security in 2019 having been engaged in the security industry since 2005 in various roles ranging from monitoring station deployments to large scale technical deployments across the country. John’s in-depth knowledge of complex security integration and healthy customer engagement support his leadership role in ensuring that our Enterprise Support, Managed Client Desk and National Projects teams are successful.
Emma Gibson – National Project Manager
Emma has come into Aotea Security to lead up our National Projects team, a proven performer and excellent communicator, Emma is bridging the divide between organisations, governance, operations, and technical teams. Prior to Aotea Security, Emma was responsible for Capex Projects at Powerco for 12 years, successfully implementing large Commercial and Industrial upgrades on Powerco’s gas networks. Combined with a strong background in Account Management and a customer centric approach; Emma’s communication skills will play a key part in ensuring continuity and timely dissemination of information.
Anthony Gray – Wellington Branch Manager
Anthony joined us in March this year, following a long and successful career within the electronic security industry where is expert knowledge, work ethic, focus on unparalleled service delivery, and pragmatic approach to designing, developing and delivering solutions has supported a personal and professional reputation which is second to none in our industry.
Anthony is a highly respected member of our senior leadership team and contributes nationally whilst focussing on the greater Wellington Region.
Subesh Naidu – Waikato Branch Manager
Overseeing the next phase of growth in our Waikato branch will be Subesh, working with Callum McKim and our ever-growing team of technicians. With a number of significant projects secured and landmark clients to service, huge opportunities remain in the Waikato and our team are excited about the prospects ahead.
Hamish Kerr – Hawkes Bay and East Coast Branch Manager
Not one for attention or the limelight, Hamish does his talking through action and utilising his experience and ability to coach and lead teams.
Hamish has an appreciation for every individuals’ differences and understands the drivers required to get forward momentum and peak performance. With extensive technical and industry knowledge Hamish is well placed to bring new talent to the regions and upskill our capability for the future.
Andrew Ferguson – Dunedin Branch Manager
Andy started with us as Branch Manager in June this year after an extensive career as a serving NZ Police officer in various roles and locations around the country, followed by a lengthy tenure with the University of Otago with responsibilities ranging from security, student safety and behaviour, Emergency Management and Business continuity. Andy’s range of experiences bring added value to the leadership of the Dunedin team and his influence has seen the team continue to flourish, particularly during a time of high activity and change.
Kyle Haack – Central Otago Team Leader
Returning to Aotea Security to take up the exciting role of Team Leader for our Central Otago Branch, Kyle is working closely with one of our rising stars, Kade Tarrant, to provide leadership and direction for the branch. Kyle is familiar with our AroFlo job management systems and is enjoying working in a business that has endless support and resources available to his region.
Leadership Development Programme
Another exciting initiative to further develop leadership, address diversity gaps within leadership, and create pathways and succession for our people, is our tailored Leadership training programme developed by Propel and kickstarted this month. Participants represent every aspect of our business, and we are excited by their combined enthusiasm to drive this initiative forward with us each year.
